Terminologia dels aparells sanitaris

Medical devices are crucial in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and health problems. And with the aim of disseminating the most common ones, this dictionary collects more than 340 terms of sanitary devices in Catalan, Spanish, French and English.

The devices have been classified according to a field tree that includes the large groups of devices for diagnosis and devices for treatment, and also the instruments for exploration. Each entry contains a definition with the distinguishing features of the device and often notes with additional information about the parts, main uses or, in some cases, a link to the sheet available in the World Health Organisation documents.

It is a work developed by TERMCAT and the Ministry of Health of the Government of Catalonia with the collaboration of the Societat Catalana del Diccionari Enciclopèdic de Medicina de l’Acadèmia de Ciències Mèdiques i de la Salut de Catalunya i de Balears.

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in three ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), using the thematic access or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
