The online dictionary Oli d'oliva en textures ('Olive oil in textures') is the result of a work initiated in the 2016-2017 academic year by third-year students of the Culinary and Gastronomic Sciences degree in collaboration with the Linguistic Services of the University of Barcelona. The students worked on the terminology concerning the production processes of textured olive oil. The results of the work were published in the Viquipèdia (Wikipedia in Catalan), with the support of Amical Wikimedia. The material published in Viquipèdia, subsequently reviewed by various experts, was the starting point for the creation of this dictionary, developed in collaboration with TERMCAT.
Each term includes the designations in Catalan, equivalents in Spanish, French and English, definition and notes with explanations about the elaboration process of the olive oil texture, its culinary applications and other complementary information.
Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in two ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language) or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
